Diary of a French Open

Finally !!! Finally !!! de facto becomes de jure , he is the greatest ever , completing his carrer grand slam, after running through Soderling like a bullet through cream puff , those vulpine single handed backhands , all hail king Federer .
This peregrination of the great man which had one piece of silverware missing , and till the fourth round had no contention for the title, until as put up by Agassi the' freak of nature 'had been stunned by the swede, and he has been rightfully consecrated as the best ever .
Now he has fourteen , it will be unsurmountable for quite some time, some may argue that Nadal has an outside chance, but i think he does not have it in him , he lost to an average joe 23 seeded swedish nobody who got so high after defeating him that he eventually reached the final .
well the fifteenth is coming soon at the All England Tennis and Croquet Club , because the only contagion that was bothering him is gone

Dinara Safina , who contended her claim on the titile through the two weeks faltered again , well last time it was ivanovic who genuinely deserved it , but this time i thaught it was all her's .
but somehow i feel that she will soon overpower the spirit of this choker she has , and she will win a few grand slams for herself .

Paes , what can i say , the numbers say it all , he is 35 and crafty as ever , special mention to the backhand volley in the final , somewhat difficult to put in any sort of a parlance , but beautiful . i should say, thank you leander.

  1. Well what can I say..!!.His panache for the game blended with his impeccable forehands, line affectionate backhands and pin-point accurate serves makes him the greatest player of all time, accredited by even the great "Sampras" himself.Last year at the Queens Park after having lost to Nadal a record 5th time in Grand slam final, the dream of coveted 14th slam seemed to have evaporated into thin vapors, but he kept his champion spirit alive and although he faltered once again to "The Machine" in another enterprising battle at the 'Melbourne Park' in yet another grand slam final but it didn't deter his spirits to be at the top of leaderboard.Ahead of him laid a near impossible task of mastering 'the wretched' red clay. But the moment Nadal bid adieu to his second home, all eyes were on Federer who had been honing his skills with slices in earlier rounds to combat the 'Supremo', resorted to his superior all round display and although he faced some stiff resistance from 'del porto' but the writing had always been on the wall.He easily shrugged aside the challenge of 'nadal's conqueror',and the emotional outbrust that followed avidly represented his desire for the the trophy that had always eluded him in the past, making him only the 6th person in history to have achieved the feat of capturing all the four grand slamps,an achievement that even the greats of Borg and sampras longed to achieve.
No doubt that he's our idol..
